Boom in wind energy: Max Bögl Group further increases production capacity for Hybrid Towers

Just in time for the start of the trade fair, the Bavarian company is generating an interesting topic of conversation in the wind energy sector: tower manufacturer Max Bögl will further expand its production capacity for ybrid towers for the European market. It was only in July of this year that the Max Bögl group announced big plans with the acquisition of the former Bettels precast plant in Emden. Now, the company is responding to the continued high demand from turbine manufacturers for hybrid towers by expanding its production capacity even further.

“Our newest plant in Emden already has years of tower construction experience: firstly, through its history, as it was formerly the tower factory of Enercon, and secondly through our production experts who are now working with the new colleagues in Emden to make the plant a Max Bögl factory,” said Stefan Bögl, CEO of the Max Bögl group, with enthusiasm. “The new production facility has enormous potential for us, not only because of the motivated team of currently 120 people, the direct access to the North Sea and the size of the area also offer excellent opportunities for expanding production capacity.”

In the fall of 2023, the company Bettels began production of the Hybrid Tower Bögl at the Emden site. After the ramp-up phase, Max Bögl decided to take over and expand production. By expanding the Emden facility, Max Bögl is continuing to invest in the location, thus securing additional jobs for the region.

Sebastian Weizer, plant manager of the Emden production facility, stated: “The energy transition is a generational task, and we need dedicated people who want to contribute to it. For the Emden region, we are currently creating interesting and future-oriented jobs in various fields to drive the expansion of capacities and, more broadly, the expansion of green energy in and around Germany.”

As a market and technology leader, the Max Bögl Group is setting new standards with its Hybrid Tower Bögl, which now incorporates 15 years of experience and technological advancement. In Germany, the concrete and steel tower system is in high demand among turbine manufacturers. Max Bögl currently operates three production facilities with a capacity of approximately 600 towers per year. Now, the new plant in the north of Germany is being further expanded to meet the increased demand in the industry.

From September 24 to 27, Max Bögl will be present at the leading global wind energy trade fair, Wind Energy, in Hamburg. Visitors to the fair can learn about the tower concept and available job opportunities in Hall A4 at Stand 209—whether through interesting digital gadgets or personal conversations.
